James A. Saad
President & General Counsel
James A. Saad (“Jim”) is a principal of Saad & Saad LLP and provides counsel primarily in commercial and residential real estate transactions, affordable housing, and business transactions. Jim has represented businesses in various transactional matters including assisting businesses in matters of real estate financing development. The financing of such projects has typically been provided through programs of the United States Department of Agriculture, through Rural Development (f.k.a. Farmers Home Administration) and through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and through State Housing Finance Agencies, and through the federal low-income housing tax credit program (LIHTC), along with real estate syndications. Adam F. Saad
Managing Partner & Corporate Counsel
Adam F. Saad is the Managing Partner of Saad & Saad LLP headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. Adam focuses his law practice on real estate, finance, and business transactions with an emphasis on residential and commercial real property, including affordable housing development, finance, and construction matters. He has effectively led numerous individuals, non-profits, and for-profit enterprises through the maze of multi-tiered financing used to develop affordable housing. Martin "Marty" Maggart
Title Company Manager & Paralegal
Marty is the manager of the title department and general paralegal at Star Title. He earned his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and paralegal certification from Capital University Law School. A skilled trumpeter and cornetist, Marty enjoys performing a variety of genres from classical to jazz as a member the United States Army Reserve Band and Dublin Silver Band. Lori Macbeth
Head Escrow Officer
Lori is a project manager and head escrow officer, overseeing the escrow department at Star Title. She focuses primarily on commercial transactions and manages the most complex closings with finesse. Lori graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Business Administration but currently spends more time at the University of Cincinnati, where her children attend college. When Lori isn't methodically balancing settlement statements and keeping timelines on track, she enjoys doing DIY projects and spending time with her family.

Donald P. Fisher
Vice President & Associate General Counsel
Don is a partner with Saad & Saad LLP, providing counsel to clients in commercial and residential real estate transactions, including affordable housing development, general business transactions, and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) loan programs. Don is also Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Star Title Agency LLC, with a focus on land subdivision, zoning, survey, and real estate matters. He has dedicated a significant portion of his practice working with USDA Rural Development and closing transactions for his clients involving USDA Section 515 and Section 538 loans; and assisting his clients with the rehabilitation of USDA Section 515 projects through the USDA Multifamily Preservation and Revitalization Program (MPR). Associate General Counsel
Jonah serves as Associate General Counsel of Star Title and finds satisfaction in building strong client relationships. With over a decade of legal experience, he brings a warm, practical approach as he focuses on commercial and residential real estate acquisition, development, construction, and financing matters. Jonah obtained bachelors degrees in finance and mathematics from the University of Notre Dame, and a law degree from Yale Law School. In his free time, Jonah enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, and unsuccessfully training their mischievous dogs.

Lindsay Ricart
Associate Attorney
Lindsay Ricart joined Saad & Saad LLP in 2021 following a successful tenure in family law. Lindsay focuses on low-income housing tax credit projects and transactions involving the United States Department of Agriculture. She is heavily involved in entity formation, due diligence collection, and opinion preparation. She also enjoys connecting with and collaborating with our clients to ensure they accomplish their personal and business goals. Lindsay began her undergraduate studies at The University of Michigan but finished at The Ohio State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. She received her law degree from Capital University in 2006 and was admitted to the Ohio Bar the following year. Alex Connor
Title Officer
Alex is a seasoned title officer who joined Star Title in 2007. In this role, Alex oversees issuing title commitments and policies, in addition to performing lien and litigation searches. Alex holds a bachelors degree from the George Washington University and is a proud alumnus of St. Charles Preparatory School, where he coached the quizbowl team for 15 seasons. When Alex isn't participating in (and dominating!) trivia nights, he enjoys cheering on Columbus and Cleveland sports teams and taking his rescue pup, Rory, to the dog park.

Ryan Paolini
Surveys & Land Use Vice President
Ryan joined Star Title Agency in 2017 as a legal assistant, shortly after graduating, Summa Cum Laude, from Ohio University. Since then, he has developed an affinity for viewing land surveys, which is his current focus. Ryan is known for his precision, and he takes pride in ensuring that all details are thoroughly reviewed and accurately plotted. Sean Merz
Escrow Officer
The newest addition to the Star Title Team, Sean joined as an Escrow Officer in August 2023 after spending 5 years in closing operations for a major mortgage company. A native of Grove City, he attended Ohio University for undergraduate and graduate studies in Modern American Literature, where he developed a keen eye for detail and drive for perfection in his work. After spending his days in the office ensuring that our residential transactions run smoothly, Sean likes to spend his free time making music, watching a plethora of sports with his rescue dog Beans, baking a killer cheesecake, and reading too much historical nonfiction.

Catherine DeBell
Executive Assistant
Catherine joined Star Title in January 2024 as Executive Assistant to Adam Saad, with a focus on administrative and legal support to the attorneys. She is particularly involved with new software implementation and process documentation. A native of Springfield, OH, Catherine attended college at Belmont University and lived in Nashville for 8 years before finally returning to Ohio to be closer to family and friends.
